This is Mr. Visal, a local staff member of Cambodia Cotton Club. 24 years old. He studied business at the first comprehensive university in Cambodia. I met him by chance. I was walking around Battambang, looking for someone who could speak English and be witty, and I found him selling fruit shakes. He is very considerate of others, never lies, and is painfully serious. And yet, he also tells jokes. When I did a two-and-a-half turn rollover in my Land Cruiser, we were both passed out for a while, but Visal came to first. I heard a voice say, \"Are you okay?\" I heard a voice say, \"Yeah, I'm fine,\" and I answered, \"Yeah, I'm fine,\" for the first of several times. We both kicked out the windowpane, and my boyfriend was bleeding from the face, too. He said, \"Happy Birthday! In other words, he said, \"You could have died in that accident, so it's like you came back to life once again. That's lucky. After that, as soon as he finished saying, \"Jyu, one thing, one thing, let's clean up,\" we proceeded nonchalantly to find someone to watch over the car, call the insurance company, and move the car. This one incident convinced me that I could do business with him, even in this half-lawless area. Now, Visal is battling floods and brown spot disease. He is taking care of my absence, and I would like to get back to the field as soon as possible to check the condition of the leaves, stems, and roots.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This is Mr. Visal. He is handsome and smart. I have not met many Cambodians like him. He speaks English, French, Chinese, and Khmer. I would like to invite him to Japan soon. Maybe after the cotton harvest.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
