I thought I had done a good job with the coloring to some extent, but there was a pitfall: I asked them to cut it at 180 cm, but the length of the finished product was quite different. Some colors are hard to dye, so I had to soak them in hot water many times, which caused them to shrink. Still, the lengths do not match, so I am trying to think of a solution.
Children in vocational training NGOs will eventually work in the private sector. With this kind of work approach, they will soon be laid off. Nevertheless, I am pondering how to teach them considering that they did not even receive adequate primary education. Since these children are the first to know the three primary colors that Japanese people learn in compulsory education, I think it would be best to have them learn them patiently one at a time.
As for the cutting method, I just told them, "Stretch the material with an iron (the heat source is charcoal) so that it does not burn, and then cut it carefully and slowly. Originally, I was the one who spun the material to have it shrink, so I am not sure if I can cut it well either (^^;)
White with the starch glue removed is white, which gives a fresh impression, but when the color is added, it is kind of fun. It certainly takes time and effort, but the coincidence of dyeing a different color each time is also exciting.
